Techniques & equipment

Drilling is just the start, sampling is the goal. We apply the right technique to deliver the right sample.

Our techniques

Sonic drilling & sampling

Sonic drilling is powerful, fast, clean, and versatile, suitable for nearly all geological conditions.

It achieves excellent recovery up to ~120 meters depth and 235 mm diameter, with up to 80% less Investigation Derived Waste (IDW).

The method delivers high-quality cores, minimal borehole deviation, and maximum accuracy, even in difficult formations.

Percussion / bailer

Percussion and bailer drilling are robust methods for large diameters up to 324 mm and depths of ~120 meters.

The bailer efficiently retrieves cuttings but produces significant drill spoil, and cores require separate coring tools for quality results.

From small to heavy-duty rigs, percussion is effective in many soil conditions, but not suitable for rock formations or sites with large boulders.

Direct push / hammer

Direct push and hammer drilling are compact, efficient, and non-rotating, with up to 32 blows per second.

They are especially useful in rubble layers, tight urban spaces, and for rapid shallow to medium-depth sampling.

However, this method is not suitable for rock formations or sites with large boulders.

Core drilling & sampling

Core drilling with diamond bits provides undisturbed cores in liners for precise analysis.

It is suitable for geological, geotechnical, and environmental investigations in solid rock at greater depths.

A trusted method for accurate subsurface data and material classification.

Auger drilling & sampling

Auger drilling uses rotating flights to bring cuttings to the surface outside the casing.

It is flexible, widely applied in archaeological and soil classification projects, typically up to ~30 meters depth.

Effective in many soil conditions, but not suitable for rock formations or sites with large boulders.

Hand drilling & sampling

Hand drilling is quick, simple, and cost-effective for shallow soils up to ~8 meters depth.

It is ideal for initial investigations, small projects, or archaeological fieldwork.

Only suitable for softer soils without rubble or large stones.
